Neo-Traditional New Town

Belmont Forest, located just 35 miles from downtown Washington, DC, is a neotraditional development which offers a mix of houses and townhomes interspersed with a town green and connecting parks. Since its construction in 1997, over 200 of the 900 proposed homes have been sold and the community recently established a homeowners association. The TND offers amenities such as detached garages and rear- alley access. Rather than simply building another subdivision, void of any services, this development seeks to provide residents with shopping and amenities within walking distance, and provide the opportunity for further development that is clustered and centered around this “new town.”
